PHAmliy Kidney Lifesavers

Spreading Awareness about Kidney Disease to the African American commuity and the community at Large.

Are you interested in becoming a Lifesaver? Did you know that African Americans are times more likely to experience kidney failure? Normally, African Americans are in the latest stages of kidney (renal) failure when diagnosed. There are no symptoms to kidney disease which can be part of the cause for a delayed diagnosis.

Kidney disease and kidney transplantation are topics not discussed in the African American community and this is something that has to change. There are a number of individuals in our organization and our community suffering from kidney disease, on dialysis or needing kidney transplants.

Who Were Are

The PHAmily Kidney Lifesaver Team came together through an interest of a few like minded individuals that have either dealt with Kidney Disease, received or  donated a Kidney, work, train, educate in the field of Kidney Dialysis and kidney health or have served in the crucial role as a support person for a Transplant Donor. Our collective experiences in dealing with Kidney disease from different perspectives allows us to educate the community about kidney health, disease and  patient support from many perspectives.

What We Do

PHAmily Kidney Lifesavers mission is to spread awareness about kidney disease to the African American community and the community at large through ducation, providing patient and family support and contributing to research combating kidney disease.
